Short answer: MeetNow is a free app for meeting people in person. Instead of browsing profiles, someone hosts a plan at a real public place, such as a dinner, a round of drinks, a game or a concert, and other people ask to join it with a short note. The host chooses who comes, the group chats to sort out the details, and afterwards everyone confirms they met. It is plans, not profiles, and it is launching in Malta first.
This page is the starting point of the MeetNow Help Center. It explains how the app works from start to finish, what it is (and what it is not), and where you will be able to use it. If you want to know who is behind MeetNow, read more about the MeetNow team.
What MeetNow is for
Most apps for meeting people start with a profile and hope a plan follows. MeetNow turns that around: the plan comes first. A host decides what they want to do, where and when, and how many seats are open. People who like the plan ask to join. That makes it easier to say yes to something concrete, like a padel game with one missing player or a group dinner, than to keep a conversation going with a stranger who has no plan at all.
Because every plan happens at a real public place, everyone knows where they are going before they agree to go. And because the host says up front who pays, nobody has an awkward moment when the bill arrives.
How MeetNow works in 5 steps
Every plan on MeetNow follows the same flow, whether it is a coffee for two or a dinner for six.
- A host posts a plan. The host picks a real public place, sets the date, the time and the number of seats, and chooses who pays: host pays, split, pay your own, or free. The host can also limit who can join the plan, for example by gender or age range.
- People ask to join with a short note. If a plan suits you, you send a request with a short note, for example why the plan appeals to you or what you are like as company.
- The host accepts or declines. The host sees each person’s profile and note, then accepts or declines the request. The host decides who comes; nobody is added automatically.
- Accepted guests get a group chat. Everyone who is accepted joins a group chat with the host, so the group can say hello, agree on small details and find each other at the meeting point.
- Everyone confirms “we met”. After the plan, both sides confirm “we met”. Each confirmation builds that person’s track record on MeetNow, which shows that they turn up to the plans they join or host.

What a plan looks like
A plan is short and specific. Here are a few examples of the kind of thing a host might post:
- Coffee at a café on the Sliema seafront, Saturday at 10:30, 2 seats, host pays.
- Dinner in St Julian’s, Friday at 20:00, 4 seats, split.
- A concert in Valletta, 3 seats, pay your own ticket.
- An evening walk along the promenade, 5 seats, free.
Each plan shows the place, the date and time, how many seats are left and who pays, so you can decide quickly whether it is for you.
The four “who pays” options
Money is the part of meeting new people that most often goes unsaid. On MeetNow, every plan carries one of four labels, chosen by the host:
- Host pays: the host covers the cost for the guests.
- Split: the group shares the cost.
- Pay your own: everyone covers what they order or buy.
- Free: the plan costs nothing, such as a walk or a swim.
MeetNow itself does not take payments. Whatever the label says is settled between the people at the plan, in person.
Is MeetNow a dating app?
No. MeetNow is built around plans, not profiles. You do not swipe through people or wait for a match; you look at what is happening and ask to join a plan that interests you. Some people will use it to meet new friends, some to find a fourth player for a game, some to have company at a concert. The point is doing something together in person.
The host still sees your profile before accepting you, so it helps to keep yours honest and up to date. How your details are handled is explained in the MeetNow privacy policy.
Is MeetNow free?
Yes, MeetNow is free. Hosting a plan is free and asking to join a plan is free. The only costs are the ones that come with the plan itself, such as a coffee, a meal or a ticket, and the plan’s “who pays” label tells you how those are handled before you ask to join.
Where and when can I use MeetNow?
MeetNow is launching in Malta first. Malta is a good fit for plan-based meeting: distances are short, there are plenty of public places to meet, and many people on the island are new to it and looking for company.
The app is coming soon to the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). It is not in the stores yet, so there is nothing to install at the moment. This site is where updates will appear, so follow along here for early access.

Staying safe when you meet new people
MeetNow is designed so that plans happen at public places, the host chooses who joins, the host can limit who can join a plan, and anyone can block a user they do not want to hear from again. The track record built from “we met” confirmations also shows who actually turns up.
Your own judgement still matters most. Whenever you meet someone new:
- Meet at a public place, and stay there.
- Tell a friend where you are going, who with and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own way home, so you are never relying on someone you have just met.
- Leave if you feel uncomfortable at any point. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
Do I have to host a plan?
No. You can use MeetNow only to ask to join other people’s plans. Hosting is there when you want to do something specific and would like company for it: you set the place, the time, the seats and who pays, and you choose who comes. Many people will do both, joining plans at first and hosting once they have an idea of their own.
